If the animal seems friendly and you feel comfortable, try to contain it in a secure yard, garage, or pet-safe area.

What Happens Next

We hold stray animals 5 days to give their families a chance to find them. During this time, we check for microchips, monitor health and behavior, and post photos of incoming animals on Facebook and Shelter Manager.

If no one comes forward —we begin the process of finding them a safe, loving home.

Not Ready to Bring Them In Just Yet?

If the animal is friendly and you’re able to care for them temporarily, ask us about being a foster. This keeps space open in the shelter and gives the animal a quieter environment. We’ll support you with supplies and guidance.
